Environmental Corruption Response Project

Client: EU ISF-funded Project

November 2025 – October 2027

ENCORE is an ISF EU-funded project focused on the corruption–pollution nexus and the ways bribery, undue influence and fraud can enable environmental crimes such as illicit trafficking in waste and f-gases.

The project is structured around three pillars:

  1. Mapping and desk research
  2. capacity-strengthening
  3. Intelligence analysis.

The mapping and desk research pillar, is led by Ambiendura, and focuses on identifying corrupt practices, enforcement gaps, and good practices, with special attention to the role of financial institutions and due diligence in preventing money laundering linked to environmental crime. Findings will be transformed into practical tools for authorities, policymakers, NGOs, journalists, and the public.

The project will run between 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2027. The project brochure is available here.
